Seminole County Gives Flouride The Brush Off
Saturday, July 19, 2008 11:36:06 AM
SEMINOLE COUNTY -- Officials in Seminole County said they will stop putting fluoride in the drinking water supply in about three or four months.
The Orlando Sentinel reported the county has been adding fluoride since the mid-1980s.
Seminole County’s assistant utility manager said it made sense to eliminate fluoride since the county is dealing with a tight budget and there’s a nationwide shortage of fluoride.
It’s estimated that ending fluoride in the water will save the county about $100,000 annually.
