TALLAHASSEE -- The state Attorney General's Office said it has received more than 130 complaints of price gouging related to Tropical Storm Fay.
It is illegal in Florida to impose extreme price increases on items including food, water, ice, gas or hotel rooms.
A majority of the complaints reported were related to gasoline prices, while many others are about bottled water, building materials and even batteries.
Many of the complaints came from Hillsborough County, but the state said they have received several calls from Orange and Polk counties as well.
To report a complaint, call the Price Gouging Hotline at (866) 9-NO-SCAM -- that's (866) 966-7226.
